High Wycombe : Be sure your sin will find you out

Pastor John Sherwood and myself were preaching the gospel in High Wycombe on Thursday, aided by church members. We were really encouraged at how many tracts were handed out, and the number of conversations entered into. Two Christian passers-by were elated at our presence and message.

Yet others scoffed and expressed disapproval. Even this, however, was a source of encouragement to us, because it meant that the message was atleast being heard and provoking a response.

Some of the preaching focused on Romans 14:10-12 : “We shall all stand before the judgment seat of Christ. For it is written, As I live, saith the Lord, every knee shall bow to me, and every tongue shall confess to God. So then every one of us shall give account of himself to God”.

We pleaded with those walking past to consider that the all-seeing Judge of all the earth reads their hearts and sees their actions. He has decreed that all stand guilty and condemned, unless they come to Christ. We issued the warning in love, “Be sure your sin will find you out” (Numbers 32:23).

May many of those who heard in Wycombe prepare themselves to stand before Christ’s judgement throne with the utmost urgency.
