Pastors Peter Simpson and John Sherwood and Mr Graham Parkhouse from Epsom were preaching the gospel in Slough High Street on Tuesday April 27th.
Following on from his widely reported arrest in Uxbridge the previous Friday, the north London minister, Pastor Sherwood, was out on the streets again, undaunted, proclaiming the unsearchable riches of Christ just a few miles down the road in Slough. Indeed, he had also engaged in vigorous gospel preaching at Speakers’ Corner in Hyde Park on the Sunday afternoon after his outrageous 21 hour incarceration over Friday and Saturday for upholding the Biblical teaching on marriage and gender.
Mrs Eve Hammond, assisting the preachers in Slough, reported a very large uptake of tracts from passing members of the public. Mr Parkhouse spoke on the absolute authority of God’s word, the Bible, totally trustworthy, even from its very first chapter and in its account of God’s creation of the universe. One or two useful conversations were entered into with passers-by, and the witnessing brethren are praying that those who heard in Slough may realise the absolute urgency of coming in repentance and faith to the only Saviour of sinners, the Lord Jesus Christ.
