HIGH WYCOMBE WITNESS : The faithful work of the lady helpers gives vital support to the preaching

On a winter-like day of high winds High Wycombe heard the sound of the Christian gospel on May 20th, as Pastors John Sherwood and Peter Simpson were preaching there.

An encouraging number of tracts was handed out, and some good conversations were entered into, although the weather appeared to be reducing the number of people walking through the high street.

The preaching was much enhanced by the faithful support of five witnessing sisters in Christ, who spoke to passers-by and handed out the literature which encouraged people to consider the great need and danger that they were in, until they came to Christ, the only Saviour of sinners.

The presence of these ladies brings to mind Paul’s reference in Philippians 4:3 to “those women which laboured with me in the gospel”. What a vital role they play, and two of the sisters supporting Pastors Sherwood and Simpson were able to pray with passers-by during the witness.

Prayer is now being offered up that those who heard some words of gospel truth in High Wycombe may be brought in repentance and faith to the Lord Jesus Christ for both their present and their eternal benefit.
