Pastor Peter Simpson was preaching the gospel in the centre of High Wycombe on April 20th, helped by faithful witnessing ladies from the church.
Mrs Pilkington had a brIef conversation with a lady who welcomed the tract offered to her. She said she used to go to church but no longer. When she was asked why, she said that she left off church after her sister died. So Mrs Pilkington said that God knew all about her grief. The Lord Jesus Christ when on this earth totally identified with all human grief. As we read in Hebrews 4:15, “We have not an high priest which cannot be touched with the feeling of our infirmities; but was in all points tempted like as we are, yet without sin.”
The lady said that she would like to talk more, but needed to go. So she asked about the church’s contact details.
The witnessing sister had another conversation with a Muslim lady, who was unable to talk for long because of her work , but who wanted know more about the Lord Jesus Christ. She seemed genuinely interested, and it is hoped to speak to her again the next time there is preaching in High Wycombe.
A long conversation also took place with an LGBT lady who also tragically said that she was a satanist. It was endeavoured to explain to her concerning lesbianism that the word ‘love’ cannot be used to justify breaking God’s moral law and acting contrary to nature as God made it. As our Creator He knows what is best for us. May the Lord open this lesbian’s heart.
Those witnessing are thankful for the useful conversions which took place in God’s providence on this glorious Spring day.
